Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata, West Bengal, has announced a Faculty Recruitment 2024 notification for the position of Junior Research Fellow. Eligible candidates are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity to join one of the leading institutes in India.

Organization Profile:

The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), established by Professor P.C. Mahalanobis on 17th December 1931, is a prestigious institution devoted to research, teaching, and the application of statistics, natural sciences, and social sciences. In 1959, ISI was recognized as an Institution of National Importance by an act of the Indian Parliament.

Job Position:

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Title of the Project:

Infinite Dimensional Analysis in Modern Economics Scenarios

Sponsored by:

Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)

Essential Qualification:

• M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Mathematics/Statistics from a recognized Institute or University.
• Valid CSIR/UGC NET/GATE score or qualification through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments and institutions (e.g., DST, DBT, DAE, DRDO, MHRD, ICMR, IIT, IISc, ISI, IISER).

Desirable Qualification:

Candidates should have:

• A strong foundation in Real Analysis and Measure Theory.
• Additional knowledge in Topology, Functional Analysis, Stochastic Processes, and other areas of Mathematics and Statistics is encouraged.

Pay:

• Fixed pay of ₹37,000/- per month plus House Rent Allowances as per Institute norms.

Tenure:

The appointment will be for one year from the date of joining the Institute, with the possibility of extension or early termination based on performance and funding availability.

Age Limit:

Candidates should not exceed 35 years as of 01 July 2024. Relaxation in age will be provided for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Differently-abled candidates and outstanding candidates with relevant experience.
