Job Description

The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has announced recruitment for the post of Professor Emeritus.

About NIT Calicut

Formerly known as Regional Engineering College Calicut, NIT Calicut is a premier public technical university governed by the NIT Act passed by the Parliament of India. The institution is located on the Kozhikode–Mukkam Road, about 22 kilometers northeast of Kozhikode, Kerala. It offers academic excellence across various disciplines, including Engineering, Science, Management, and more.

Job Position: Professor Emeritus

  • Position Type: Full-time
  • Duration: Initially for one year; extendable based on project requirements for another year

Minimum Qualifications

Eligible candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Superannuated/retired Professors from reputed institutions like NITs, IITs, IISc, or equivalent.
  • Must have led high-value externally funded or sponsored projects as Principal Investigator (PI).
  • Involvement in student start-ups, patents, or other revenue-generating activities is desirable.
  • Experience in teaching and project guidance is essential.

Remuneration

Selected candidates will be offered:

  • Honorarium: ₹1,20,000 per month
  • Additional Allowances: Up to ₹20,000/month on a reimbursable basis
