Job Description

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has announced faculty recruitment for 2025. Applications are invited from distinguished professors, practitioners, and professional experts for the posts of Visiting Faculty, Adjunct Faculty, and Professor of Practice across multiple disciplines.

About NIT Manipur

NIT Manipur began its academic journey on 2nd August 2010 with three Engineering branches – Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering at the Government Polytechnic, Takyelpat Campus.

Currently, the institute operates from its permanent campus at Langol, Imphal, and offers additional branches – Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Spread across 341.5 acres of lush green land, NIT Manipur continues to evolve as a hub for technical education and research.

Qualifications Required

  • PhD / Postgraduate / Graduate degree in the relevant discipline.
  • Must hold a degree from a Centrally Funded Institution (CFI) under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Experience Criteria

  • 10/12/15 years of experience after PhD/Postgraduate/Graduate degree.
  • OR, 3 years in senior positions such as GM, Director, Tech Head, R&D Head, or Project Head in top organizations, top 100 corporates, ISRO, DRDO, or National Research Labs (Scientist F level or above).

Job Location

  • Imphal, Manipur

Salary Details

  • Professor of Practice: Rs. 1.2 lakh per month
  • Associate Professor of Practice: Rs. 1.0 lakh per month
  • Assistant Professor of Practice: Rs. 0.8 lakh per month
  • Adjunct & Visiting Faculty (Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor):
    • Rs. 5000/- per hour teaching
    • Maximum 3 trips per semester
    • Maximum 5 hours of teaching per day
    • Monthly emoluments capped at Rs. 1.2 lakhs
