Adjunct Faculty in Health Education at American River College

Position Description:

The selected adjunct faculty member will be responsible for:

  • Teaching assigned classes under the direction of the area dean
  • Assisting students in mastering course content and achieving learning outcomes
  • Using modern technologies in the classroom and online settings
  • Maintaining professional development and active involvement in curriculum review
  • Participating in college governance and student-related activities
  • Supporting equity-minded practices and fostering inclusive learning environments

This instructional assignment may include day, evening, hybrid, weekend, online, or off-campus classes.

Salary:

$42.92 – $104.52 per hour (varies by classification and placement according to experience and academic background)

Start Date:

On or about August 21, 2025

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in health science, health education, biology, nursing, physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, dietetics, nutrition, or public health
  • OR Bachelor’s in any of the above + Master’s in any biological science
  • OR equivalent (see notes below)
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and diverse learning styles
  • Degrees must be from accredited institutions and completed by the time of hire
